In September 1940, President Franklin Delano Roosevelt came to the North Carolina/Tennessee border for the dedication of Great Smoky Mountains National Park. This saucer-sized plate, featuring two of the park’s attractions, The Loop and its Native Black Bear, was subsequently manufactured by Fairway in Japan sometime after World War II. Comes with a display stand.
