MID-AMERICA + THE PLAINS.
Home Decor / Kitchen Decor, Decorative Plate, Souvenir, c. 1960.

“The Little Brown Church In The Vale” is the centerpiece of this lovely ceramic plate decorated with a montage of Iowa imagery. The church is in the town of Nashua and recalls the title of a popular old hymn. Other local attractions shown include the Quaker Oats Plant in Cedar Rapids and the State Capitol building in Des Moines. Uncaptioned are the Iowa State flag, the goldfinch as its state bird, the wild rose as its state flower, and two of its staple farming industries, corn and cattle. Manufactured in the U.S.A. by Homer Laughlin this quality decorative plate is a wonderful tribute piece to The Hawkeye State.
